Difficult Roads Lead to Beautiful Destinations

Have you ever heard of the saying "A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life?" Well I may not be changing my life completely, but I did cut my hair. 6.5 inches to be exact. And you know what? I feel freakin' amazing!

If you follow me on Instagram, you know the past two weeks have been a struggle. I needed something to take my mind off of everything and to make a positive impact. I have been wanting to make the chop for about a month now, so I finally made the appointment and said to myself don't back out of it. I actually reached out to an old friend since she has the CUTEST short hair (Hey, Jill!) and she sent me the photo she shows her hairdresser. From there, I searched through endless photos of long bobs until I finally found a couple I wanted to emulate. These were the photos I brought my hairdresser:

Since I've been going to my hairdresser for about 15 years now, she knows exactly what to do with my hair. Sitting in the chair, hair sectioned out and scissors in hand she said "Are you ready?" and I said YES! Having her chop and snip away at my hair was so freeing. And not just because it felt like 10 lbs. had been lifted off of my shoulders, but because I was making a change for myself.

When she was done drying and styling my hair, she turned me around and all I could think of was how incredible the cut was, but even better, how incredible I felt. I'm sure some of you are thinking, this was just a hair cut, why are you being so dramatic? For me, my hair is a huge part of me. Not just because it's my hair, but because I have always loved styling and coloring it. It got to the point where I was throwing it up in a bun everyday and couldn't care less about how it looked. That's the point where I knew I needed to make a change, and I'm so glad I did.

So now I have a challenge for you- what is one positive change you can make for yourself? Have you been wanting to wake up 30 minutes earlier for your booty call? Maybe you've been wanting to chop your hair, or even try a new color? DO IT! The best thing you can do is put yourself first and make that change to become a better and happier you.

Happily and positively yours,

Sarah
